
The countdown to one of the biggest spectacles in women’s cricket has officially begun with the full schedule released for the International Cricket Council Women’s T20 World Cup 2026. The tournament, the 10th edition of the global showpiece, will run from June 12 to July 5 in England, bringing together 12 teams in the largest Women’s T20 World Cup ever staged.
Hosts England Women’s Cricket Team will kick off the tournament against Sri Lanka Women’s National Cricket Team at Edgbaston Cricket Ground on June 12, setting the tone for what promises to be an action-packed competition.
This year’s tournament sees four new qualifiers – Bangladesh Women’s National Cricket Team, Ireland Women’s Cricket Team, Scotland Women’s Cricket Team, and the debutants Netherlands Women’s National Cricket Team – join established powerhouses including defending champions New Zealand Women’s National Cricket Team, six-time winners Australia Women’s National Cricket Team, India Women’s National Cricket Team, Pakistan Women’s National Cricket Team, South Africa Women’s National Cricket Team, and West Indies Women’s Cricket Team.
The final will be played at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground on July 5, adding further prestige to the tournament.
ICC Chief Executive Sanjog Gupta described the schedule announcement as a significant milestone, emphasising the ICC’s continued investment in the growth and global reach of women’s cricket.
