Sri Lanka captain Chamari Athapaththu has reached a career-high rating in the ICC Women’s T20I Batting Rankings following her impressive performances against Pakistan in the recent three-match T20I series in Dambulla.

Athapaththu played a key role in Sri Lanka securing the series victory, scoring 39 runs off 22 balls in the opening match and following it up with a blistering 40 off just 15 deliveries in the second game. Her consistent performances helped her move up one place and achieve a personal best rating of 729 points.

Young batter Imesha Dulani was the biggest mover among Sri Lankan players in the T20I rankings, rising 33 places to 23rd after producing a match-winning unbeaten 101 off 64 balls in the first game.

Pakistan’s Muneeba Ali and Shawaal Zulfiqar also made significant progress, with Zulfiqar making a remarkable jump of 869 places to reach 52nd after impressive knocks of 63 and 48 in the series.

In the ICC Women’s ODI Rankings, Sri Lankan batters also gained ground following their 2-1 ICC Women’s Championship series win over Pakistan in Hambantota. Harshitha Samarawickrama moved up to a career-best 13th place, while Athapaththu climbed to 18th and Hasini Perera advanced to 35th.

The latest rankings highlight the continued rise of Sri Lanka’s women cricketers on the international stage.
