Lanka Premier League 2026 Scheduled from July 10 to August 5 Across Four Venues

Date:

The Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2026 will be staged from July 10 to August 5, with Sri Lanka’s premier domestic T20 tournament set to deliver another month of high-intensity cricket. The sixth edition of the competition continues to build on the momentum gained since its launch in 2020, offering a platform for local players to compete alongside international stars.

Matches will be played across four venues: the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground and the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo, the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Pallekele, and the Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium in Dambulla. The spread of venues is expected to provide varied playing conditions and ensure wider fan engagement across the island.

Preparations for the tournament will gather pace with the online portal for foreign player registration scheduled to open on May 4. The recruitment of overseas players remains a key component of the league, enhancing its global appeal while raising the competitive standard of the competition.

Sri Lanka Cricket, the owner of the tournament, will conduct the event in partnership with The IPG Group, the event rights holder. The collaboration has overseen the organisation and commercial operations of the league in recent editions.

Samantha Dodanwela, an Executive Committee Member of Sri Lanka Cricket, will continue to function as Tournament Director, ensuring continuity in the management structure. Since its inception, the Lanka Premier League has played a vital role in identifying emerging talent and strengthening Sri Lanka’s T20 pipeline, with the 2026 edition expected to generate considerable anticipation among fans.
