The Sri Lanka Under-19 Women’s cricket team produced a superb all-round performance to defeat the England Under-19 Women’s cricket team by 52 runs in Match 2 of the tri-series in Australia. 💪🏏

Batting first, Sri Lanka posted a competitive 170 in 42.4 overs, anchored by a composed half-century from L. Thilakarathne, who struck 51 off 85 balls. S. Gimhani added valuable support with 39, ensuring Sri Lanka built a defendable total despite disciplined spells from England’s bowlers.

England’s chase never really gathered momentum. B. Gillgrass top-scored with 35, while B. Willis remained unbeaten on 20, but the Sri Lankan bowlers maintained pressure throughout the innings.

A. Thalagune and C. Praboda led the charge with three wickets apiece, dismantling the English batting line-up. Their tight spells ensured England were bowled out for 118 in 42.1 overs. 🎯

Earlier, Sri Lanka’s bowlers also benefited from excellent fielding and sharp energy in the middle, underlining the team’s growing confidence in the tournament.
